I agree with Bob, the standard VMC is not designed for any type of jig-grinding, though some are probably better suited to it than others. Machines like the Roeders in the link however, are. That machine in particular is designed with flow-back in mind and every nook and cranny is sealed to keep fines/abrasives out of critical areas.

Posted May 16, 2018. Hi gurus, I'm working towards a project of making watches from scratch, and as part of that I'm considering buying a milling machine. Given the precision levels needed for both milling and boring, I'm considering a rather costly option, the Wabeco F1200. It has a 0.01mm tolerance for milling and 0.03mm for boring.

The manual shows 4x 3/8-16 x 1" screws going thru the "head body assy", and 4x t-nut in the bottom of the "head drive assy". P14-15, and P 17-19. Sure looks as if you just loosen the 4 screws you indicated, and turn the "head drive assy" around to where you want it. CNC machines only go through the motions.
